About Me

Ah, my misspent youth!
I have a degree in Journalism and I worked for The Milwaukee Journal as a reporter. When given the opportunity to work as a research assistant and earn a Master’s degree in Political Science. I served as a campaign manager and as a treasurer. However I didn’t feel that I was consistently making a difference in people’s lives so I earned two more degrees – a Bachelor’s and a Master’s in Speech Language Pathology. I have been a Speech Language Pathologist for over 20 years. It’s a great way to share language and stories.
What I have always been is a fourth generation partner in my family’s Orchard business. I have been selling apples and other fruit since I was 4 and managed a Farmer’s Market stall for my family since 16. I have pruned in winter cold and cut weeds in summer heat. Certainly this has shaped my attitude towards life, nature and stories.

Whether pretending to be Huckleberry Finn or Anne Shirley or putting on a puppet show, I have developed stories. From as far back as I have remembered I have been a writer. Now I am bringing my stories – about family, work, nature – always with a humorous twist and a few surprises – to a wider audience.
Enjoy!
